Around the time I turned sixteen, in the words of Psalm 34:8, I tasted and saw that the Lord was good, and ended up serving Jesus as a youth minister and youth ministry educator so that other 16 year olds could come to that same realisation. So far the adventure has involved theological education, Anglican ordination, five years as a youth minister in Wollongong on the south coast of NSW, thirteen years as Principal of Youthworks College in Sydney, and four years of a PhD at the University of Queensland.
In 2016 I joined the faculty of Ridley College, Melbourne, where I am lecturer in Practical Theology, Coordinator of In-Context Learning, and Director of the Ridley Centre for Children’s and Youth Ministry. I continue to give some of my time as a ministry consultant for the Mathew Hale Public Library in Brisbane, and am on the Faculty Team for the Compass Foundation. I am the Executive Administrator of the International Association for the Study of Youth Ministry, a member of the Association of Youth Ministry Educators, and of the Society of Professors of Christian Education.
